Today Microsoft India has tweeted about it -

Microsoft Indic Language Input Tool helps you enter Indian language text easily into any application in Microsoft Windows or on any page on the Web. The primary input mechanism is transliteration. Additionally, it provides a visual keyboard to assist with editing words that do not transliterate properly.

It’s a very useful tool for using various Indian languages in various services as in tweeting, presentations, chatting etc. Just type in English and it gets transliterated into Indian language of your choice.

At present it supports -

Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi ,Kannada ,Malayalam ,Marathi ,Oriya ,Punjabi ,Tamil ,Telugu.
