1,800 Tech Professionals Gather for Microsoft 2008 MVP Global Summit

  Microsoft Corp. honors its 2008 Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs), a highly select group of experts who represent the best and brightest in technical communities, at the 2008 MVP Global Summit April 14–17 in Seattle at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center and at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond.

More than 4,000 MVPs worldwide cover 90 different Microsoft technologies in 94 countries. Mirroring the wide range of real-world challenges and applications that MVPs represent, the summit will feature more than 600 technical sessions on topics ranging from enterprise security and virtualization to gaming and digital media.

This year’s summit also marks new leadership for the MVP program, as Toby Richards takes on the role of general manager of Community Support Services for Microsoft. The MVP Global Summit will conclude with closing remarks by Steve Ballmer, Microsoft chief executive officer, and Ray Ozzie, Microsoft chief software architect.

Bill Gates at MVP Global Summit 2007

As i had posted earlier about MVP Global summit 2007 which was held from 12-15 Mar, 2007 in Seattle, here are some more details.
There were more than 1700 MVPs representing over 90 countries who attended the 2007 summit.
From India, 35 MVPs and our MVP Lead Abhishek attended the summit. I watched from here, the keynote from Bill Gates, which was available through live video stream (only for MVPs). Bill Gates shared his thoughts and vision for technology during the summit. There was lots of praise for MVPs for their work. And after that there was very interesting Q&A session with Bill Gates. MVP Global Summit 2007

The 2007 MVP Global Summit will begun at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle from 12-15 March at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond. The event will kick off with a keynote address by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.
Many of my fellow MVPs are there attending the summit.
The annual event recognizes the value that Microsoft designated Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs) around the world provide in helping to make the company’s products successful, while honoring their contributions to the objective exchange of knowledge and their dedication to enriching the technology user experience.
