[Tip]: How to clear File Explorer Recent Files history in Quick Access

In Windows 10, you have list of files and folders you have recently opened, accessed shown under Quick Access in File Explorer.


One may want to clear these list of files shown as Recent Files History in Quick Access. Or one may do not want these Recent Files at all.

These options can be changed from :

Open File Explorer  > Options > Change Folder and Search options and then

From Folder Options General tab > Privacy , click on the clear button to clear the File Explorer history.

One can Uncheck the ‘Show recently used files in Quick Access’ to not list these files at all in Quick access.

Similarly one can uncheck the ‘Show frequently used folders in Quick Access’ to not list these folders at all.
